"Building a customer base is like building a house, the foundation is extremely important. Only on a strong foundation, can a magnificent building be built." Huang Jing-Yan has his own very unique way of managing the Chinatrust Real Estate Co.'s Zhongli regional management location which has allowed him to always have a clear idea of any customer related details. "The foundation for everything, is the information of our customers. Files with customer information must first be created and filled in before we take the next step of actually contacting a customer. In this manner, trust can be built, which allows us to effectively help our customers find exactly what they are looking for."

Mr. Huang has 11 years of prior experience as a sales agent. He had previously worked as a sales person at a well-known life insurance company, and just became a manager for Chinatrust Real Estate this year. "I wanted to take on more challenges," said Mr. Huang.

 

"I became accustomed to using a systematic database to manage customer information while working for the insurance company, but the real estate industry likes to use standard paper forms to keep customer information and needs. I believe that using a paper process to manage customer lists comprises work and sales effectiveness. Therefore, I started looking for a suitable customer relationship management system." Mr. Huang went online and searched for the term "CRM." The first one that appeared was VIdegree. After further comparison and evaluation, he found that VIdegree was exactly what he needed, and signed up for the trial online.

"Although using paper records does indeed achieve the purpose of recording customer information, but when you're looking for something, you have to flip through a stack of papers, and it's a huge waste of time," stated Mr. Huang. When Huang first started to use VIdegree, he used the "tagging" feature to divide his clients into different groups. For example, customer source could be labeled as "introduced by middleman," "walk-in," and etc. Customers can also be organized according to their interests and house-viewing habits etc. Organizing his clients in this manner has allowed Mr. Huang to better understand his clients. Furthermore, when he wants to find a piece of information, he can just search using relevant tags to find exactly what he needs. He no longer has to try to remember everything on his own, "It really has improved my work efficiency a great deal!" expressed Mr. Huang.

 "When first choosing a CRM, the primary consideration was that, it had to be easy to use." Mr. Huang continues to say proudly, "It took us less than a month to get used to VIdegree!"
